Once Upon A Time with Heather Clement

March 8, 2017

I did not grow up dreaming of being an insurance agent; I actually wanted to be a writer. As a young girl, I scribbled poems and songs and letters and stories. I had a flair for the creative and could be a bit dramatic (if I’m honest). I dreamed of being a novelist or songwriter, but as the years went by, I realized that my passion really was communicating. Whether telling my own stories or helping someone else to tell theirs, my happy place was in the expression of ideas and information – and still is.

As a former marketing director for an insurance agency, I had plenty of opportunity to write, but as I learned more about insurance, I found myself drawn to the importance of what good agents do – advocating for their clients (making sure their stories are heard!) and helping to protect their dreams. I realized that I wanted to connect with people on a more personal level, and that becoming a licensed insurance agent would give me the opportunity to develop those relationships and really make a difference in the lives of people in the Valley.

I am so excited to be part of the Chalmers Family! The agency’s core values of superior service, honesty, community involvement and passionate professionalism represent the kind of agent (and person) I want to be, and I’m feeling very at home here already.
